Subproject 2
Here the chosen materials are characterized comprehensively. To obtain the highest reachable H2 capacities suitable pairs of mesoporous solids and organic solvents must be determined. Simultaneously, the optimal composition of the high-entropy alloy must be investigated in terms of textural properties (UMSICHT, INC) as well as for elemental composition by different characterization methods, like X-ray- or neutron-scattering (WUT), thermal gravimetry (WUT, INC) etc.. Therefore, any kind of analytical or laboratory support will be granted by the project partners. For the most promising cases the advanced 3D characterization of the microstructure will be performed using X-ray, SEM-FIB and/or electron tomography. The results of 3D analysis will also be used as an input for modeling tasks. Any changes in the materials after the release of H2 will also be recorded.
