Ecological and economic analyses

Subproject 6

Here the ecological and economic evaluation of both different storage technologies and the comparison with conventional methods will be done.

To assess the ecological benefits of "Core-H2storage" technology, a life cycle assessment of the system will be carried out. In addition, a contribution analysis will be conducted to identify particularly ecologically relevant materials and processes. The results of the analysis will be mirrored to the project team so that optimizations can be implemented (subproject 1). In addition, prospective methods will be applied to estimate potential environmental impacts of hydrogen storage technology on an industrial scale. Only in this way is it possible to make a reliable comparison with processes that have already been developed.

For an economic evaluation, the production costs are estimated, considering variable, fixed, general and manufacturing costs. In addition to determining the expected costs (preliminary costing), the actual costs incurred are calculated at the end of the project (final costing).
