Project consortium

Projekt partners

  • Production of HEA alloy powders. AMAZEMET, as leader of the first sub-project, will use ultrasonic atomization to produce multiple batches of metal powders and develop a final alloy to be used in the demonstrator in coordination with other consortium members.

  • The focus of the Tunisian partner of the CETP project is to develop a new approach to characterize the pore size of porous materials.

  • The INC methods are primarily used to characterize the materials provided at all stages of development with regard to their textural properties (porosity analysis) and gravimetric analysis (subproject 2). In addition, the focus (subproject 3) is on the H2sorption behavior, whereby the kinetics in the loading and unloading process are to be recorded more precisely and the influence of temperature investigated. In addition, a test device based on gravimetry and manometry is to be developed and built to determine H2sorption and release (subproject 3). The main aim is to investigate mass transport and cyclic behavior in long-term applications.

  • JA-Gastechnology will manage the operation of the newly built prototype. JAG will work in close cooperation with UMSICHT and INC to support the development of the prototype.

  • The Energy Research Centre (ERC) CEET at VŠB – TUO is a specialised workplace engaged in research and development (R&D) activities primarily in the field of energy. Thanks to long-term cooperation with industrial partners, we are dedicated to improving the technical level of energy equipment, reducing environmental impact, development of alternative fuels, hydrogen energy and industrial safety. Our centre includes an accredited testing laboratory and we offer comprehensive services ranging from expert studies, emission measurements to energy management and implementation of international standards.

  • The role of the WUT team in the project relates to numerical modeling of material properties and processes, advanced structural and microstructural characterization using novel 3D X-ray and electron tomography, and analysis of processes related to hydrogen absorption and desorption.

  • Fraunhofer UMSICHT is responsible for the technical and administrative coordination of the project (subproject 7), an institute with extensive experience in the coordination of RTD joint research projects at regional and national level as well as participation in European projects. In addition, UMSICHT will carry out the synthesis of Si aerogels (subproject 1) and will also make a major contribution to the characterization of the materials (subproject 2), the construction of the prototype for H2storage (subproject 5) and the ecological assessment (subproject 6).  As project coordinator, UMSICHT leads the reporting and the knowledge community of subproject 8.
